The Chamber annually awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors who live in the Loveland City School District. The program, which began in the early 1990s with scholarship gifts of $500 and $600 dollars, has been funded through the sale of tee and green sponsorships at our annual golf outing fundraiser, plus donations and income from our 2005 map project. Each February, our Board of Trustees sets the scholarships for that year. In 2009, we will give two $1000 scholarships.
The Loveland Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship will be given to the student that excels in these areas: academic achievement, extracurricular activities and community service. Financial need will also be taken into consideration.
The Patricia Furterer Scholarship is given to the student who best exemplifies the character of Patricia Furterer, a long-time resident, former Executive Director of the Chamber, 2002 Valentine Lady, Loveland Stage Company Producer, and Loveland promoter and enthusiast. Academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community service, and financial need will also be taken into consideration.
